JOHN LEWIS
1940 - 2020
'While my time here has now come to an end, I want you to know that in the last days and hours of my life you inspired me. You filled me with hope about the next chapter of the great American story when you used your power to make a difference in our society. Millions of people motivated simply by human compassion laid down the burdens of division. Around the country and the world you set aside race, class, age, language and nationality to demand respect for human dignity.'
LYNETTE NIEMEIER
1957 - 2020
Riley County lost a dear friend and valued activist. Lynette was a photographer and media specialist, teaching and inspiring future artists in the Junction City school system. Lynette owned a profound sense of empathy which fueled her work in social activism and with the Riley County Dems. She worked tirelessly - right up until her death - to get out the vote. Her fur baby, Turtle Bug, was constantly by her side. We are comforted in knowing she has been reunited with all of her four-legged loves.

Lynette was a treasure to this community. And she will be sorely missed.
